Rockets’ Dwight Howard suspended one game; J.B. Bickerstaff fined

NEW YORK – Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard has been suspended one game without pay for striking the arm of a game official and Rockets head coach J.B. Bickerstaff has been fined $10,000 for public criticism of the officiating, it was announced today by Kiki VanDeWeghe, Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations.

The incident involving Howard occurred with 8:08 remaining in the fourth quarter of the Rockets’ 123-122 loss to the Washington Wizards on Jan. 30 at Toyota Center.  Bickerstaff made his comments to the media postgame following the same contest.

Howard will serve his suspension tonight when the Rockets host the Miami Heat at Toyota Center.
