NEW YORK – The NBA today released its complete game schedule and broadcast schedules for ABC, TNT, ESPN, NBA TV, and NBA on ESPN Radio for the upcoming campaign, with the reigning champion Miami Heat tipping off the league’s 2012-13 season  at home against the Boston Celtics.

The league’s 67^th season begins Tuesday, Oct. 30, as part of Kia NBA Tip-Off ’12, with a TNT doubleheader, marking the 17^th straight season the network has tipped off with two games on opening night. In the first game (8 p.m. ET), the Heat opens up defense of its NBA title by hosting a Celtics team that took Miami to seven games in the 2012 Eastern Conference Finals. Before the game, TNT will televise the championship ring ceremony. The second game features two Western Conference teams with their own championship aspirations as the Dallas Mavericks visit the Los Angeles Lakers (10:30 p.m. ET).

This is the third consecutive season that Kia Motors, the Official Automotive Partner of the NBA, has been the title partner of NBA Tip-Off. Kia NBA Tip-Off ’12 features a combined six nationally televised games in the first four days on TNT and ESPN. The latter opens its 11th consecutive year of NBA coverage on Friday, Nov. 2, with a doubleheader, featuring the Heat visiting conference rival the New York Knicks (8 p.m. ET), followed by an intra-city matchup in Los Angeles as the Lakers play host to the Clippers (10:30 p.m. ET).

TNT’s coverage continues Thursday. Nov. 1, with a double dip, featuring the debut of the Brooklyn Nets as they host the Knicks (7 p.m. ET) at Barclays Center, followed by a rematch of the 2012 Western Conference Finals as the defending conference champion Oklahoma City Thunder visits the San Antonio Spurs (9:30 p.m. ET).

NBA TV tips off its 96-game slate with two games on Wednesday, Oct. 31, featuring the New Orleans Hornets welcoming the Thunder (8:30 p.m. ET), followed by the Lakers visiting the Portland Trail Blazers (10:30 p.m. ET). For the fifth consecutive year, NBA TV will feature Fan Night on Tuesdays throughout the season. On Fan Night, NBA fans are given the opportunity to vote for the games they want to see televised nationally on NBA TV on that particular night.

Highly anticipated television matchups throughout the regular season include:

• Both games between 2012 Finals opponents will be televised nationally. The Thunder and Heat will help tip off ABC’s coverage of NBA games in Miami on Christmas Day (5:30 p.m. ET); the Heat travels to Oklahoma City on Feb. 14 (TNT, 8 p.m. ET).
• The Lakers lone visit to Madison Square Garden will be part of a TNT twin bill on Dec. 13 (8 p.m. ET), with the second game featuring the Trail Blazers hosting the Spurs (10:30 p.m. ET).
• The Houston Rockets will visit the Knicks on Dec. 17 (7:30 p.m. ET) in a game carried by NBA TV.
• Including the Thunder-Heat tilt Dec. 25, the NBA schedule features five Christmas Day games split between ABC (two) and ESPN (three). ESPN tips off the day with Nets hosting the Celtics (12 p.m. ET), and concludes with a Christmas night doubleheader featuring the Rockets visiting the Chicago Bulls (8 p.m. ET) followed by the Clippers hosting the Denver Nuggets (10:30 p.m. ET). ABC’s afternoon double dip includes the Lakers hosting the Knicks (3 p.m. ET) followed by the Thunder-Heat game.
• The NBA again will celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day with a full schedule of games on Jan. 21, including four nationally televised contests. On ESPN, the Indiana Pacers visit the home of the Civil Rights Museum, Memphis, to tip off against the Grizzlies at 1 p.m. ET.  The Knicks host the Nets on NBA TV (3:30 p.m. ET). TNT will feature an evening doubleheader beginning with the Spurs visiting the Philadelphia 76ers (7 p.m. ET), followed by the Lakers playing at the Bulls (9:30 p.m. ET).
• Both games between the NBA’s two winningest franchises will be nationally televised as the Lakers visit the Celtics Feb. 7 (TNT, 8 p.m. ET) and Boston travels to Los Angeles Feb. 20 (ESPN, 10:30 p.m. ET).

In its 29^th year of NBA coverage, TNT will televise 52 regular-season games, including 40 as part of Thursday night doubleheaders and a doubleheader on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. TNT will also exclusively televise NBA All-Star 2013 festivities in Houston Feb. 15-17, culminating with the NBA’s 62^nd All-Star Game on Sunday, Feb. 17.

ESPN will televise 75 regular-season games, which include 33 games on Wednesdays and 29 on Fridays. ESPN telecasts are also available via WatchESPN, with nearly all on ESPN Mobile TV. ESPN Deportes (ESPN’s Spanish-language U.S. sports network) will also televise select regular-season games.  The ABC national television schedule consists of 15 exclusive regular-season broadcasts.

The NBA on ABC and ESPN, and NBA TV present flexible scheduling throughout the regular season in order to provide the most compelling matchups to a national audience.

The NBA on ESPN Radio’s 29-game regular-season schedule begins opening night, with Boston at Miami. The NBA on ESPN Radio will also broadcast all the events from NBA All-Star 2013.

For the eighth straight season, ABC will exclusively broadcast The Finals, which tips off in June 2013. This season, TNT is the exclusive home of the 2013 NBA Eastern Conference Finals and ESPN will exclusively televise the 2013 NBA Western Conference Finals.

Once again, NBA LEAGUE PASS will offer up to 40 out-of-market games per week.
