NEW YORK – The Atlanta Hawks’ Jeff Teague and the Dallas Mavericks’ Monta Ellis today were named NBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, April 7, through Sunday, April 13.

Teague led the Hawks to a 3-1 week, which included wins over the Brooklyn Nets and Miami Heat. He averaged 20.3 points (eighth in the conference), 5.8 assists (eighth in the conference) and 1.75 steals (tied-ninth in the conference). Teague tallied 25 points, four rebounds, four steals and three assists during a 98-85 win over the Miami Heat on April 12, and in the process, helped the Hawks clinch the eighth seed for the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Ellis helped the Mavericks to a 2-1 record, which included wins over the Utah Jazz and Phoenix Suns. He averaged 25.7 points (seventh in the conference), 4.7 assists and 4.0 rebounds. Ellis connected on 15-of-23 field goals en route to a game-high 37 points on April 12, as the Mavericks beat the Suns 101-98 and secured a playoff berth.

Jeff Teague, Atlanta Hawks

April 9 vs. Boston: Recorded 19 points, eight assists and two steals in a 105-97 win over the Celtics.

April 11 @ Brooklyn: Scored 22 points and added three rebounds and three assists in a 93-88 win over the Nets.

April 12 vs. Miami: Posted 25 points, four rebounds, four steals and three assists in a 98-85 victory over the Heat.

Monta Ellis, Dallas Mavericks

April 8 @ Utah: Scored 16 points and added five assists and four rebounds during a 95-83 win against the Jazz.

April 10 vs. San Antonio: Posted 24 points, four rebounds and four assists in a 109-100 loss to the Spurs.

April 12 vs. Phoenix: Registered 37 points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals in a 101-98 win over the Suns.
