Jonathan Tillman named NBA Executive Vice President, Team Marketing and Business Operations

NEW YORK – The National Basketball Association (NBA) today announced that Jonathan Tillman has been promoted to NBA Executive Vice President, Team Marketing and Business Operations (TMBO).  Tillman, who has served as the NBA’s Senior Vice President of TMBO since 2020, will report to NBA Deputy Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer Mark Tatum.

In his new role, Tillman will oversee the department responsible for supporting NBA, WNBA, NBA G League and NBA 2K League teams in all areas of business operations, including ticketing, partnerships, marketing, digital, arena experience, and data & analytics.

“Jonathan has played an instrumental role in the transformative growth of NBA teams’ business operations over the past several years,” said Tatum.  “His extensive experience working and consulting with our teams will be of enormous value to the league as he takes on this expanded leadership position.”

Tillman originally joined the NBA league office in 2013 as Director of TMBO, serving as a WNBA and NBA G League Account Manager.  He also led the Ticket Sales Strategy group, overseeing ticketing consulting across all NBA, WNBA and NBA G League teams.  During his tenure, he helped drive all-time records for attendance, ticket revenue and sponsorship revenue at the team level.

Prior to the league office, Tillman held several leadership roles with the San Diego Padres, Atlanta Hawks and Atlanta Thrashers, supporting the organizations’ Ticket Sales & Service in addition to Fan Experience.

A native of Milwaukee, Wis., Tillman holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University.
