GRAMMY Award-nominated Kehlani to perform at halftime of 2023 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game
NEW YORK – The WNBA announced today that two-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated singer-songwriter Kehlani will perform at WNBA All-Star Halftime presented by AT&T during the 2023 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game. The game will be played on Saturday, July 15 at Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas in association with Femme It Forward. ABC will air the All-Star Game in primetime for the first time (5:30 p.m. PT/8:30 p.m. ET).
“Performing at the WNBA All-Star halftime show is a powerful reminder of the magic that happens when women come together,” said Kehlani. “I’m beyond excited to be part of this iconic celebration.”
Kehlani received their first GRAMMY® Award nomination for Best Urban Contemporary Album for their 2015 breakout mixtape, “You Should Be Here.” They also earned a GRAMMY® nomination for Best R&B Performance for “Distraction,” a 2016 single from their debut studio album, “SweetSexySavage,” which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s R&B albums chart.
A Bay Area native, Kehlani has also been a nominee at the American Music Awards, BET Awards, Billboard Music Awards and Soul Train Music Awards. In 2017, they were honored with the “Rule Breaker” award at Billboard’s Women in Music.
Kehlani has collaborated with GRAMMY® Award-winning artists Cardi B, Justin Bieber, Eminem and Chance the Rapper. They are featured on the soundtracks of the movies “Suicide Squad” and “The Fate of the Furious.” Kehlani released their third studio album, “Blue Water Road,” last year.
