Maine’s Tim Frazier named NBA D-League Performer of the Week
NEW YORK – Tim Frazier of the Maine Red Claws was today named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played Monday, March 7 through Sunday, March 13. It’s the second straight nod for Frazier and the fifth of his career.
Frazier (6-1, 170, Penn State) helped Maine to a 3-0 week averaging 12.7 points on 60.0 percent shooting to go with 9.7 assists (second in the league), 7.3 rebounds and 1.0 steal.
On March 10, he recorded 16 points and connected on four-of-six attempts from behind the arc to go with 10 rebounds, five assists and two blocks in a 111-95 win over the Erie BayHawks. On March 13, he tallied 12 points, 14 assists, seven rebounds and three steals in a 129-123 victory over the Grand Rapids Drive to lock up a playoff berth for the second consecutive season.
Last year’s NBA D-League MVP returned to Maine after starting the season with the Portland Trail Blazers and has led the team to a 7-1 record since his return. Through eight games, Frazier is averaging 15.0 points on 55.7 percent shooting to go with 9.4 assists, 9.1 rebounds and 1.4 steals.
Other top performers considered were Bakersfield’s Xavier Munford, Grand Rapids’ Henry Sims, Iowa’s D.J. Stephens, Maine’s Corey Walden, Sioux Falls’ Rodney McGrunder and Texas’ Tu Holloway.
