Michelob Ultra named presenting partner of The NBA Mexico Game 2023
MEXICO CITY – The National Basketball Association (NBA) and AB InBev, the world’s leading brewer, today named Michelob Ultra the presenting partner of The NBA Mexico City Game 2023.
The NBA Mexico City Game 2023 presented by Michelob ULTRA will feature the Atlanta Hawks and the Orlando Magic playing a regular-season game at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City on Thursday, Nov. 9. The matchup will mark the league’s 32nd game in Mexico since 1992, more than any country outside the U.S. and Canada.
The collaboration builds on the global marketing agreement between the NBA and AB InBev announced in June, which named Michelob Ultra as the first-ever global beer partner of the NBA and initiated the brand’s engagement with NBA fans in Mexico. As presenting partner of The NBA Mexico City Game 2023, Michelob Ultra will receive prominent on-court and in-venue promotion and add to the excitement of the game by conducting a variety of fan engagement events and activities that will be announced in the coming weeks.
“We are excited to launch our marketing collaboration with Michelob Ultra in Mexico by bringing another regular-season NBA game to our passionate fans this November,” said NBA Mexico Vice President and Managing Director Raul Zarraga. “There is incredible momentum around the NBA and the game of basketball across the country, and we look forward to building upon Michelob Ultra’s global agreement with the league by working together to engage our growing fanbase and delivering an unforgettable experience through this game and the surrounding events.”
“The NBA Mexico City Game 2023 is the perfect moment to celebrate our expanded marketing partnership with the NBA and bring meaningful moments of joy to basketball fans in Mexico and around the world,” said Michelob Ultra Global Vice President of Marketing Pedro Adamy. “We are proud to be the presenting sponsor of this event and look forward to building the momentum behind Michelob Ultra and the NBA in Mexico.”
The Magic currently features 2022 No. 1 overall pick and 2022-23 Kia NBA Rookie of the Year Paolo Banchero, 2021-22 Kia NBA All-Rookie First Team member and 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup champion Franz Wagner, and 2017 No. 1 overall pick Markelle Fultz. The Hawks are coming off their third consecutive playoff appearance behind two-time NBA All-Star Trae Young and 2022 NBA All-Star Dejounte Murray.
