NBA 2K League returns to Washington, D.C., for 2024 season in partnership with Monumental Sports & Entertainment
NEW YORK AND WASHINGTON – The NBA 2K League today announced that the 2024 season will return to District E Powered by Ticketmaster in Washington, D.C. in partnership with Monumental Sports & Entertainment. Competitions will consist of a combination of remote and in-person gameplay, tipping off Wednesday, Feb. 28 and culminating Saturday, June 29.
“We’re excited to bring the 2024 NBA 2K League season back to Washington, D.C., which was such a fantastic hub for us last season,” said NBA 2K League CEO Andrew Perlmutter. “I’m looking forward to bringing another season of top-tier entertainment to fans in our nation’s capital, and to working closely with the Leonsis family and Monumental Sports & Entertainment, who are really wonderful hosts and partners.”

Separated into 3v3 and 5v5 splits, the season will unfold as follows:
- NBA2KL 3v3 BLACKTOP SERIES:
- SLAM OPEN: Feb. 28 – March 16
- SWITCH OPEN: March 20 – April 6
- STEAL OPEN: April 19 – 20
- NBA 2K League 3v3 Playoffs presented by Google Pixel: April 24 – 27
- THE BANNER CHAIN SERIES Powered by AT&T:
- THE TIPOFF Powered by AT&T: May 8 – 25
- THE TURN Powered by AT&T: May 29 – June 15
- THE TICKET Powered by AT&T: June 18 and June 22
- NBA 2K League 5v5 Playoffs presented by Google Pixel: June 26 – June 29
Community teams who advanced during the Open Qualifier last month will have the opportunity to participate alongside NBA 2K League teams for a share of the 3v3 tournament prize pool in the NBA2KL 3v3 BLACKTOP SERIES. THE BANNER CHAIN SERIES Powered by AT&T and the NBA 2K League 5v5 Playoffs presented by Google Pixel will continue to feature only NBA 2K League teams. All 25 NBA 2K League teams will compete in THE TIPOFF and THE TURN. The five top performing teams from each conference at the end of those tournaments will automatically qualify for the NBA 2K League 5v5 Playoffs presented by Google Pixel. The 15 remaining teams will compete in THE TICKET, with the winning teams from the two conferences earning the final two spots in the 12‑team Playoffs. During the course of the season, the NBA 2K League will award $2 million in cash prizes.
