NBA creates expanded schedule of All-Star events for fans
NEW YORK – Providing fans with more chances than ever to experience NBA All-Star, the NBA will bring the Sprint NBA All-Star Celebrity Game and NBA All-Star Practice presented by Sean John at Macy’s to an arena-sized audience in 2015 for the first time. Also new for this season’s events, the league will feature two separate fan hubs, called NBA House, to best serve New York City’s five boroughs.
Ahead of the 64th NBA All-Star Game and State Farm All-Star Saturday Night on TNT, New York takes center court as the league created an expanded schedule of All-Star events to increase the number of opportunities for fans to get closer to the game.
On Friday, Feb. 13, Madison Square Garden will host the Sprint NBA All-Star Celebrity Game at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN, just hours before the league’s best rookies and sophomores tip off the BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge from Barclays Center at 9 p.m. ET on TNT.
In front of the event’s largest crowd in league history, basketball’s biggest names will descend upon Madison Square Garden for NBA All-Star Practice presented by Sean John at Macy’s at 10:30 a.m. ET on Saturday, Feb. 14 on NBA TV.
Carmelo Anthony, Spike Lee and ESPN Radio’s Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic will serve as guest coaches for the Sprint NBA All-Star Celebrity Game. Coach pairings and additional participants will be announced at a later date.
Another first at NBA All-Star 2015, the NBA Development League All-Star Game presented by Kumho Tire and the NBA Development League Dream Factory presented by Boost Mobile will take place from an NBA arena. The events, which include the Boost Mobile NBA D-League Slam Dunk Contest and the Boost Mobile NBA D-League Three-Point Contest, will be held at Barclays Center beginning at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday, Feb. 15 on NBA TV.
Tickets for the Sprint NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge and NBA All-Star Practice presented by Sean John at Macy’s are now on sale starting at $15 at www.NBATickets.com.
To reach as many New Yorkers as possible, the NBA will feature fan hubs at two easily accessible locations in New York City. NBA House, a celebration of the game and the central fan event of NBA All-Star 2015, will be held in both Manhattan and Brooklyn. Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 10, the NBA Houses will connect fans to their favorite teams and players through non-traditional, customizable experiences, as well as classic oncourt activities. New Yorkers will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with current NBA players, as well as NBA legends, creating an intimate NBA All-Star experience.
Tickets for NBA House and NBA D-League events will go on sale in early 2015.
