160 players with NBA D-League experience highlight NBA training camp rosters
NEW YORK – One hundred and sixty players with NBA Development League experience are featured on 2013-14 NBA training camp rosters. The 160 former NBA D-Leaguers comprise 29 percent of all players on NBA rosters as training camps get underway this week.
All 30 NBA teams have at least one player with NBA D-League experience on their training camp roster, with the Phoenix Suns boasting a league-high 10 players. The Indiana Pacers have nine former NBA D-Leaguers, while the Brooklyn Nets, Memphis Grizzlies and Philadelphia 76ers each have eight players who have played in the NBA D-League on their teams.
The NBA D-League season tips off its 13th season on Friday, Nov. 22, with an all-time high 14 teams having single affiliations with their NBA parent clubs. Opening night features a seven-game slate beginning with the Canton Charge and Erie BayHawks and Springfield Armor and Maine Red Claws tipping off at 7 p.m. ET. The Delaware 87ers being their inaugural campaign on Saturday, Nov. 23, when the team faces the Charge in Canton.
