NBA delivers most-watched regular season in four years
NEW YORK – The NBA this year had its most-watched regular season in the United States since 2013-14. Combined viewership across the league’s four national television networks finished up eight percent compared to last season (1,283,000 vs. 1,187,000), according to Nielsen.
NBA games on ABC (+17%), TNT (+13%), ESPN (+4%) and NBA TV (+1%) each experienced viewership growth this season.
The league’s games on local regional sports networks averaged a 2.4 rating, up four percent from the 2016-17 season.
The 2018 NBA Playoffs tip off Saturday, April 14, with 16 teams competing for a trip to the NBA Finals presented by YouTube TV and the chance to win The Larry O’Brien Trophy.
