NBA G League Ignite’s Showcase Cup schedule
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – As part of the NBA G League’s innovative new season format, NBA G League Ignite is set for 14 league contests this fall in the Showcase Cup.
The expanded Showcase Cup includes all 29 G League teams plus Ignite separated into four regional pods, with each team playing 12 games in NBA G League markets. The teams with the best winning percentage in each regional pod, along with the next four teams across the league with the best winning percentages, will advance to compete for the Showcase Cup in a single-elimination tournament during the NBA G League Winter Showcase, set for Dec. 19-22. The 22 remaining teams will each play two games outside of the Showcase Cup tournament during the Winter Showcase.
“We’re so excited to begin this next season competing in the Showcase Cup, and we’re looking forward to giving our young players early opportunities to learn and develop against tough G League opponents,” said Ignite head coach Jason Hart.
Prior to Ignite’s 14 Showcase Cup contests, the team will also play preseason exhibition games at the Iowa Wolves (Oct. 29) and Sioux Falls Skyforce (Oct. 31).
