NBA G League suspends five players
NEW YORK – The NBA G League announced today that five players have been suspended for their roles in a postgame altercation after the Iowa Wolves’ 109-98 victory over the Memphis Hustle on Feb. 6 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa.
Memphis guard Trahson Burrell (three games) and Iowa forwards Shawne Williams (two games) and Quinton Chievous (one game) have been suspended for fighting. In addition, Memphis guards Jeremy Morgan and Marquis Teague have been suspended for one game each for their involvement in the incident.
Williams will begin serving his suspension on Sunday, Feb. 11 when Iowa visits the Austin Spurs. Morgan and Teague will serve their suspensions on Feb. 11 when Memphis visits the Grand Rapids Drive. Burrell, who was waived by the Hustle on Feb. 8, and Chievous, who is injured, will serve their suspensions beginning with the next game they are active to play.
