OKLAHOMA CITY – The NBA today released “Game 7: The Movie,” a cinematic experience nine years in the making, across all @NBA social media platforms and on the NBA App.
The film debuts ahead of tonight’s highly anticipated Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals presented by YouTube TV between the Indiana Pacers and Oklahoma City Thunder, which will air tonight at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. This will be the first Finals Game 7 since 2016, when the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Golden State Warriors.
Using rarely seen footage, the film traces the pressure and the emotion surrounding an NBA Finals Game 7 and weaves together eight decades of NBA history into one story. The movie opens with quiet moments, as players arrive at the arena, then moves into locker rooms for pregame words from all-time great coaches, including Phil Jackson, Doc Rivers, Gregg Popovich and Rudy Tomjanovich. After the game tips off, tension builds with every possession.
The drama continues to rise as the film moves beyond halftime, into the moments when champions are made. Some of the game’s most iconic players dig deep to make the clutch plays and performances that have cemented their legacies, including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Larry Bird, Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Pau Gasol, Kyrie Irving, LeBron James, Magic Johnson, Hakeem Olajuwon, Bill Russell and Jerry West. The movie ends with the final buzzer, the weight lifted and NBA legends realizing their names will be forever etched in history.
