NBA Store Arena to open at São Paulo’s Morumbi Town Shopping in Brazil
SÃO PAULO – The National Basketball Association (NBA) today announced that it will open “NBA Store Arena” at São Paulo’s Morumbi Town Shopping in Brazil on Friday, Oct. 29. The new store will feature the most expansive selection of official NBA merchandise in Brazil and marks the 12th NBA-branded retail location in the country.
NBA Store Arena will be a state-of-the-art, 1,500 square meter retail space – matching the third-largest NBA Store in the world – that captures the history of the NBA through a wide-range of official NBA products, innovative technology, interactive experiences and events, including a digital video wall showing live NBA games and highlights, a full-length basketball court, and an NBA-themed rooftop restaurant. The store will offer the widest selection of NBA merchandise available to fans of all ages in Brazil, including jerseys, footwear, headwear, memorabilia and exclusive NBA apparel from licensees such as Nike, New Era, Mitchell & Ness and Wilson.
“NBA Store Arena builds on our long-standing commitment to providing our passionate fans in Brazil with new and creative ways to experience the excitement of the NBA,” said NBA Brazil Licensing and Retail Director, Roger Ahlgrimm. “We can’t wait to welcome fans to this beautiful new retail space where they can connect their favorite teams, players and one another through their shared love of the game.”
Additionally, NBA Store Arena will offer basketball-themed games like pop-a-shot and opportunities to engage in a variety of fan-friendly activities, including a dedicated area where fans can compare their heights and shoe sizes to NBA players and legends. The store will also showcase authentic NBA memorabilia and exclusive NBA-inspired art, including one painting and one mural for sale by Brazilian artist Eduardo Kobra. For a limited time, consumers at NBA Store Arena will be able to access discount codes for 15 percent off NBA League Pass subscriptions and receive opportunities to attend special events, including future meet-and-greets with NBA and WNBA players and legends.
Additionally, NBA Store Arena will host NBA Basketball School, a tuition-based basketball development program open to male and female players in Brazil ages 6-18.
NBA merchandise is available in Brazil at 12 NBA-branded retail stores, the NBA Store Truck – the league’s first official mobile retail destination –, online at LojaNBA.com, and at partner retail locations across the country. NBA Store Brazil was named Best Retailer (Corporate/Lifestyle/Fashion/Sports) at the 2020 International Licensing Awards.
