Suns’ Ryan Dunn, Magic’s Anthony Black, Trail Blazers’ Toumani Camara and Pistons’ Ausar Thompson named replacements for 2025 Castrol Rising Stars

NEW YORK – Rookie Ryan Dunn of the Phoenix Suns and second-year NBA players Anthony Black of the Orlando Magic, Toumani Camara of the Portland Trail Blazers and Ausar Thompson of the Detroit Pistons have been named replacements for the 2025 Castrol Rising Stars, which will take place on Friday, Feb. 14 at Chase Center in San Francisco as part of NBA All-Star 2025 (9 p.m. ET, TNT).

Dunn is replacing Philadelphia 76ers rookie Jared McCain, who had season-ending surgery to repair a lateral meniscus tear in his left knee on Dec. 17.  Black, Camara and Thompson are replacing NBA sophomores Dereck Lively II of the Dallas Mavericks, Brandon Miller of the Charlotte Hornets and Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs.

Lively is out at least through NBA All-Star 2025 with a stress fracture in his right ankle.  Miller had season-ending surgery to repair a torn scapholunate ligament in his right wrist on Jan. 23.

Wembanyama was selected to play in the Castrol Rising Stars and the NBA All-Star Game.  With the two events connected this year, he will only compete for one of the three teams of NBA All-Stars in the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, Feb. 16 at Chase Center (8 p.m. ET, TNT).

An annual showcase of premier young talent, the Castrol Rising Stars features a mini-tournament with four seven-player teams and three games.  New this year, the Castrol Rising Stars champion will earn a spot to play in the NBA All-Star Game.

The three team rosters composed of NBA rookies and sophomores will be determined in the Rising Stars Draft, which will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 4 p.m. ET on the NBA App and on social platforms @NBA.  The fourth team, representing the NBA G League, was previously announced.

Tickets for the Castrol Rising Stars are available at NBAEvents.com/All-Star and through the NBA Events App, which can be downloaded in the Apple Store or Google Play Store.
