Skyforce’s Shawn Jones, Vipers’ Toure’ Murry named NBA D-League Co-Performers of the Week

NEW YORK Sioux Falls Skyforce forward Shawn Jones and Rio Grande Valley Vipers forward Toure’ Murry were today named NBA Development League Co-Performers of the Week for games played Monday, Jan. 26 – Sunday, Feb. 1.  This is the first time either player has garnered Performer of the Week honors.

Jones (6-8, 236, Middle Tennessee State) led Sioux Falls to a 3-0 record, averaging 19.0 points on .649 shooting (24-for-37), to go along with 14.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.0 steal and 1.0 block. He recorded a double-double in all three games and giving him six consecutive games of double-digit points and rebounds. On Jan. 21, he tallied season-highs with 29 points and 20 rebounds in a 121-11 win over the Delaware 87ers.

Murry (6-5, 200, Wichita State) helped Rio Grande Valley to a 2-1 record, averaging 19.0.points on .463 shooting (19-for-41). He connected on 6-of-14 three-point attempts in addition to recording 9.0 assists, 7.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists. On Jan. 30, he registered a season-high 24 points, to go along with 10 assists, nine rebounds and three steals in a 133-126 victory over the Texas Legends.

Other top performers considered included Austin’s Bryce Cotton, Bakersfield’s Archie Goodwin (currently on assignment by the Phoenix Suns), Idaho’s Jerrelle Benimon, Iowa’s Russ Smith (currently on assignment by the Memphis Grizzlies), Reno’s Jordan Hamilton, Santa Cruz’s James Michael McAdoo, and Texas’ Mike James.
