Westchester Knicks select 16 players in 2014 NBA D-League Expansion Draft
NEW YORK, Sept. 3, 2014 – The Westchester Knicks have selected the rights to 16 players through the 2014 NBA Development League Expansion Draft. Westchester’s roster is now comprised of the team’s 2014-15 Returning Player List, as populated by the Expansion Draft, and will hold the rights to those players for two seasons.
The players made available to Westchester in the Expansion Draft were those unprotected players from 2012-13 and 2013-14 NBA D-League team rosters with each of the returning 2013-14 NBA D-League teams being able to protect the rights of up to 12 players. The Knicks were able to select up to 16 unprotected players, with no more than two selections coming from any one NBA D-League team.
The Westchester Knicks, one of 18 teams playing in the NBA D-League for the 2014-15 season, are owned and operated by the New York Knicks and will play their home games at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, New York.
