NBA Crossover exhibition returns to Milan May 31-June 2

MILAN – The National Basketball Association today announced that Milan will once again host NBA Crossover, a cultural exhibition displaying the convergence of the NBA and popular culture.  The free exhibition will take place in Zona Tortona, Via Novi 5, in Milan from May 31 – June 2 and will feature appearances by Sacramento Kings guard Buddy Hield.

NBA Crossover will once again immerse fans into the world of the NBA through interactive exhibits, escorting the visitor through a cultural journey focusing on how music, fashion, art, and entertainment have shaped and influenced the NBA, its teams and players.

Hield will headline the event and be onsite throughout the weekend participating in various activities and competitions, signing autographs and interacting with fans.  Hield, who enjoyed a breakout season in Sacramento, became the first NBA player to make 600 threes in his first three seasons.  The former University of Oklahoma star came into the team’s final game of the season as the Kings’ leading scorer, posting 20.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 32.1 minutes per game.

“I am excited to visit one of the world’s fashion capitals for NBA Crossover in Milan,” said Hield.  “It is always interesting to see how fans embrace the NBA internationally and how those off-the-court connections to the wider culture, like music and style, resonate with them so powerfully.”

“We look forward to welcoming visitors to NBA Crossover in Milan again this summer,” said NBA Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Europe and Middle East, Ralph Rivera.  “Italy has strong historical ties with the NBA and a knowledgeable, passionate fan base who we hope to engage through this event which captures the myriad ways in which the NBA is fundamentally linked to popular culture.”

NBA Crossover will feature specific areas focusing on how music, fashion, art, and entertainment have influenced the sport of basketball, demonstrating how the NBA has become synonymous with popular culture.  Fans will have the unique opportunity to interact with the NBA through a series of activations including virtual reality experiences, art displays by local artists, photos with The Larry O’Brien Trophy, panel discussions with local speakers and influencers and more.

NBA Crossover is located at Via Novi 5, 20144 Milan, Italy and is open from 12-8 p.m. on Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1; and from 12-6 p.m. on Sunday, June 2.

NBA Crossover is in partnership with Foot Locker, Gatorade, Radio 105, Sky Sport, Tissot and UBI Banca.
