Pistons’ Andre Drummond, Warriors’ Stephen Curry named NBA Players of the Week
NEW YORK – The Detroit Pistons’ Andre Drummond and the Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry were today named NBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Tuesday, Oct. 27, through Sunday, Nov. 1.
Drummond posted a point-rebound double-double in each game, leading the Pistons to a 3-0 record behind averages of 18.7 points and a league-best 16.3 rebounds. He also added 2.0 blocks per game. The fourth-year center opened the week with an 18-point, 19-rebound effort during a 106-94 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Oct. 27, and closed the week with an emphatic 20-point, 20-rebound outing as the Pistons beat the Chicago Bulls 98-94 in overtime on Oct. 30.
Curry led the league in scoring at 39.3 ppg and led the Warriors to a 3-0 week. The reigning Kia NBA MVP placed sixth in the West in assists (7.3 apg) and tied for second in steals (2.33 spg). He shot 58.8 percent from the field, 48.6 percent from three-point range and 95.5 percent from the foul line. Curry closed the week by pouring in 53 points and adding nine assists, four rebounds and four steals during a 134-120 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Oct. 31.

Oct. 27 vs. New Orleans: Scored 40 points and added seven assists and six rebounds in a 111-95 win over the Pelicans.
Oct. 30 @ Houston: Tallied 25 points, seven rebounds and six assists during a 112-92 win over the Rockets.
Oct. 31 @ New Orleans: Made eight three-pointers and finished with 53 points, nine assists, four rebounds and four steals in a 134-120 win over the Pelicans.
