LONDON AND WARSAW – The National Basketball Association (NBA) and CANAL+ POLSKA SA, the leading pay-TV sports broadcaster in Poland, today announced a multiyear expansion of their existing collaboration that will provide the most extensive NBA coverage ever in Poland.

CANAL+ POLSKA will air more than 160 live NBA games and the league’s marquee events across its channels each season, including CANAL+ online.  CANAL+ will continue to air weekend games in primetime as part of the league’s “NBA Saturdays and NBA Sundays presented by NBA 2K23” primetime initiative, which features games starting as early as 9 p.m. Polish Time.  Live coverage will also include the Play-In Tournament, the NBA Playoffs, the Conference Finals, and the Finals.

Coverage will tip off Saturday, April 15 when the defending Eastern Conference champion Boston Celtics host the Atlanta Hawks at 9:30 p.m. Polish Time on CANAL+ FAMILY and CANAL+ online.

Fans in Poland can continue to enjoy the daily program, “Basket+” and the weekly studio show, “Basket Office” presented by Artur Kwiatkowski and Gabriel Rogaczewski, which also livestreams on the CANAL+ SPORT YouTube channel.  Fans will also be able to vote on CANAL+ POLSKA social media channels for the game of the month that will air each month throughout the season.

“CANAL+ has been an official broadcaster of the world’s top basketball league, the NBA, for over 20 years.  We are excited to continue our relationship and offer our viewers the opportunity to follow the fierce competition and rivalries between the NBA’s leading teams on one channel.  Our online programming makes it easy for viewers to enjoy the games on any device, and we will also provide additional NBA content and sports documentaries to enhance the viewing experience,” said CANAL+ POLSKA SA CEO and General Director Edyta Sadowska.

“Building on the strong audience growth of the NBA in Poland this season, we’re excited to expand on our more than 20-year relationship with CANAL+ POLSKA to provide fans with the most extensive NBA coverage ever available in the country,” said NBA Europe and Middle East Vice President, Global Media Distribution, Elsa Memmi.  “With regular weekend games in primetime, extensive coverage of the league across CANAL+ POLSKA’s channels and platforms, and a promising young player with ties to Poland in the San Antonio Spurs’ Jeremy Sochan, there has never been a better time to be an NBA fan in Poland.”
