Colie Edison named WNBA Chief Growth Officer

NEW YORK – The WNBA announced today that Colie Edison will join the WNBA as the league’s first-ever Chief Growth Officer, effective January 31, 2022.  Edison will lead the development and execution of strategic growth initiatives as the league enters its 26th season.   She will be based in the league’s New York office and report directly to WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert.

Edison comes to the WNBA from the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA), where she served as the first female Chief Executive Officer in the organization’s 64-year history.  Her responsibilities included overseeing all business aspects of planning and executing key initiatives, including the PBA’s groundbreaking partnership with FOX Sports.

In addition, Edison was also the Chief Customer Officer of Bowlero Corporation, leading all consumer-facing strategic growth initiatives and overseeing global marketing efforts for the world’s largest owner and operator of bowling centers, with 300+ locations in North America.  She joined Bowlero as Vice President of Marketing in 2013 before being promoted to Chief Customer Officer in 2017.

“Colie is joining our executive leadership team at a time in WNBA history where the league has enormous growth potential,” said Engelbert.  “As we continue to execute on the league’s five-year transformation plan, Colie brings extensive business experience with managing strategic projects and alliances as well as negotiating marketing and media partnerships and we look forward to her making an immediate impact on our growth aspirations.”

“I’m thrilled to be joining the WNBA at such a pivotal and exciting time for the league,” said Edison.  “The momentum for the WNBA continues to grow and I look forward to working with Cathy and the WNBA leadership team to help further elevate the league.”

A native of New Jersey, Edison graduated Cum Laude with a BA in Communications from Tulane University.
