“The NBA Exhibition” interactive fan experience to launch in Melbourne on March 21

MELBOURNE – The National Basketball Association (NBA) today announced that leading live entertainment companies Expand Trading Company & Muse Marketing and Entertainment, together with Fever, will launch the “The NBA Exhibition” in Melbourne on Thursday, March 21.

The NBA Exhibition – an interactive, NBA-themed fan experience showcasing the lifestyle, culture and history of the NBA – made its debut in Australia in Brisbane last September.  The exhibit will conclude its Brisbane run on Sunday, March 3 before moving to the District Docklands in Melbourne on March 21.  Fans can find more information and register their interest in attending at thenbaexhibition.au.  Tickets will go on sale on Thursday, Feb. 14.

The NBA Exhibition provides fans of all ages with a variety of touchpoints to interact with the NBA.  Leveraging the NBA’s rich history and current generation of players, The NBA Exhibition takes fans on a journey of discovery across 20 themed sections where fans have the opportunity to participate in customised activations, including virtual and augmented reality experiences, photos with the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy, and more.

Upon entering the 1,100 square metre venue, fans are immersed in a multi-sensory NBA experience where they can test their basketball skills, measure their vertical jump and reflexes, showcase their shooting skills, and more.  Additional highlights include an augmented reality photo booth offering guests the opportunity to take their photo with NBA players, the “Slam Dunk Selfie” where visitors can pose to get a photo of them in dunking motion, “Measure Up!” featuring shoe and handprints of NBA players past and present, and virtual reality booths to experience NBA highlights through VR goggles.  The exhibition also features a dedicated section showcasing current and former NBA players from Australia, as well as original artwork by Australian and First Nations artists that was originally commissioned for NBA Gallery, a pop-up exhibit in Sydney in 2022.

The 2023-24 NBA season is airing live in Australia on ESPN and NBA League Pass, the league’s premium live game subscription service available via the NBA App.  Fans in Australia can shop for the latest NBA merchandise at NBAStore.com.au, the official online NBA Store in Australia.  For more information about the NBA, fans in Australia can visit The Sporting News Australia, download the NBA App and follow the NBA on Facebook, Instagram and X.
