Pistons’ Reggie Jackson, Warriors’ Stephen Curry named NBA Players of the Week

NEW YORK – The Detroit Pistons’ Reggie Jackson and the Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry were today named NBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, Nov. 30 through Sunday, Dec. 6.

 Jackson led the Pistons to a 4-0 week behind averages of 27.0 points (fourth in the conference), 8.8 assists (second in the conference), 3.0 rebounds and 1.75 steals.  Jackson shot 56.9 percent from the field, 52.9 percent from three-point range and 89.3 percent from the foul line.  He scored 20 or more points in each contest, and eclipsed the 30-point plateau twice.  During a 127-122 overtime win over the Phoenix Suns on Dec. 2, Jackson scored 34 points and dished out a season-high 16 assists.

Curry led the Warriors to a 4-0 week, with all wins coming on the road, behind a league-best 34.5 points.  Curry, who also averaged 4.8 assists and 4.0 rebounds, scored 25 or more points in each contest, and twice reached the 40-point plateau.  On Dec. 5, Curry connected on 9-of-15 three-point field goals en route to a game-high 44 points as the Warriors topped the Toronto Raptors 112-109.

Nov. 30 vs. Houston: Scored 31 points and added eight assists and five rebounds in a 116-105 win over the Rockets.

Dec. 2 vs. Phoenix: Tallied 34 points and handed out 16 assists in a 127-122 overtime win against the Suns.         

Dec. 4 vs. Milwaukee: Posted 23 points and five assists in a 102-95 win over the Bucks.

Dec. 6 vs. L.A. Lakers: Scored 20 points and added six assists, three rebounds and three steals during a 111-91 win over the Lakers.

Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors

Nov. 30 @ Utah: Tallied 26 points, six rebounds and five assists during a 106-103 win over the Jazz.

Dec. 2 @ Charlotte: Made 8-of-11 from distance en route to 40 points as the Warriors beat the Hornets 116-99.

Dec. 5 @ Toronto: Scored 44 points and added seven assists in a 112-109 win over the Raptors.

Dec. 6 @ Brooklyn: Posted 28 points and five rebounds during a 114-98 win over the Nets.
