Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander named 2025-26 Kia NBA Most Valuable Player

NEW YORK – Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been named the 2025-26 Kia NBA Most Valuable Player, earning the Michael Jordan Trophy.  Gilgeous-Alexander has won the award for the second consecutive season.

• Becomes the 14th player in NBA history to win the Kia NBA Most Valuable Player Award in consecutive seasons

• Led the NBA in plus-minus (+788) while helping guide Oklahoma City to a league-best 64-18 record, including an NBA record-tying 24-1 start

• Became the first guard in NBA history to average at least 30.0 points (31.1 ppg) while shooting 55.0% or better from the field (55.3%) in a season

• Named the 2025-26 Kia NBA Clutch Player of the Year after leading the league in clutch points (175), clutch points per game (6.5) and go-ahead field goals in clutch time (16)

• Scored at least 20 points in each of his 68 games and broke the NBA record for consecutive 20-point games, extending his active streak to 140 games

• Became the third player in NBA history to average at least 30.0 points while shooting 50.0% or better from the field in four consecutive seasons, joining Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan (minimum 50 games each season)

A global media panel of 100 voters selected the winner of the 2025-26 Kia NBA Most Valuable Player Award.  The balloting was tabulated by the independent accounting firm Ernst & Young LLP.  The complete voting results are below.
